Every year, all over the world, there are thousands of 3x3 basketball tournaments for players to participate in and for fans to enjoy.
These range from grassroots and neighbourhood tournaments, to flagship FIBA 3x3 events such as the FIBA 3x3 World Tour and the FIBA 3x3 World Championships.
Any tournament can be easily integrated into the worldwide Competition Network thanks to FIBA’s simple and effective endorsement process. For players, endorsed tournaments also allow to collect points that count towards players’ Ranking and Ballerlevel and, for higher level tournaments and tours, a chance to make their way all the way to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour.
Endorsement grants organisers access to the FIBA 3x3 Event Maker competition management software and ensures them worldwide exposure and secures the right to use the official 3x3 logo. Organisers also benefit from in-depth expertise and best practices thanks to the 3x3 Workbook for Organisers.
There are eight different levels of endorsed tournaments, which are colour coded according to their hierarchy within the Competition Network , and which range from standalone tournaments, to top level qualifiers and finals of tournaments with, at the very top of the pyramid, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. For high level competition, tours are key to the Competition Network structure as they allow for more regular player-participation, a better promotion of the sport and in many cases are more beneficial from a sponsorship point of view.
