VOLUNTEER FOR SPAIN 2014!
The 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be one of the best events in the history of our sport and we want you to be part of its great team of volunteers, which is one of the most valuable resources of the organisation.
The slogan of the event is 'In Your Hands'. In everyone's hands – those of the teams, organisers, fans, technicians, sponsors, media, cities – and in yours too.
We want the image projected by the organisation to be your image: one of a team forged by generosity, enthusiasm, motivation, kindness and diligence. This will serve as the best reference for those who come to experience the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup for themselves, live and in person. Your work will be instrumental to their satisfaction. It’s 'In Your Hands'.
Volunteering with the 2014 World Cup organisation is a great opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Participating in the implementation of a major sporting event is a unique experience that will also bring you important benefits: it will improve your CV, as well as significantly expand your relationship circle and, above all, provide you with knowledge and values that will enhance your education.
You will participate in training courses, do teamwork and develop a variety of tasks, dynamic actions and initiatives. These experiences will undoubtedly make your volunteering an unforgettable experience. It’s 'In Your Hands'.
Your participation as a volunteer in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup involves having knowledge and accepting the rights and duties that will set out and ensure a safe and rewarding framework for the development of the voluntary actions. These rights and duties will be included in a letter of engagement signed by both parties - the organisation and the volunteers.
Anyone in Spain and around the world can apply to be a volunteer, not only the residents of the six host cities. It’s 'In Your Hands'.
Participation in the Volunteer Programme is in principle reserved to people over the age of 18, although in exceptional cases minors may also be entitled to participate. In any case, volunteers must be at least 16 years old on 1 August 2014, i.e., born before 1 August 1998.
The organisation will take care of all your needs during your daily volunteer work (provision of meals, apparel, etc…) however you will need to cover your own costs for travel and transportation, as well as accommodation and meals outside working hours.
