    Facts about Belém:

    - 12th Brazilian city in term of population with 1.3 million inhabitants.

    - Belém is known as the home of the world's largest religious procession, the Círio de Nazaré. More than 2 million participants join each year featuring a procession carrying a statue of Our Lady of Nazareth.

    - Twinning city with Lisbon (Portugal), Macapá (Brazil), and Miami (USA).

    - The language spoken in Belém is Portuguese.

    What to do in the city of Belém? (Other than the Women Olympic Qualifier Tournament 😉)

    1. Visit the Ver-o-Peso Market. It’s an open-air market where it’s possible to find fresh products as well as seafood, handicrafts and souvenirs!

    2. See the Estação das Docas. Former port warehouse that has been converted to a cultural center with shops, restaurants, and bars. If you want to relax and enjoy a moment near the Pará River, it’s the place to be!

    3. Visit the Emílio Goeldi Museum. With over 4 million specimens of animals, plants, and fossils from the Amazon rainforest as well as a botanical garden and zoo.

    4. Take a boat trip to the Amazon rainforest. There are many tour operators that offer boat trips to the rainforest!

    5. Visit the Feliz Lusitânia Palace. It’s a beautiful Art Nouveau palace that was built in the early 20th century. The palace is now a museum and is open to the public.

  • Arena Guilherme Paraense



    Capacity: 11,970

    The Arena Guilherme Paraense, also known as the Mangueirinho, is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Belém, Pará, Brazil. It is the largest and most modern indoor arena in the Amazon region, with a capacity of 11,970 spectators. The arena is home to the Paysandu Sport Club, one of the most popular professional football clubs in Brazil. It also hosts a variety of concerts, exhibitions, and other events throughout the year.

    The arena was opened in 2016 and is named after Guilherme Paraense, a former governor of Pará who was a strong advocate for sports and culture. The arena is designed to be a modern and versatile venue that can accommodate a variety of events. The arena has a large competition hall with a hardwood floor, a seating bowl with comfortable seats, and a state-of-the-art sound system. The arena also has a number of supporting facilities, including locker rooms, training rooms, and a canteen.
